Alice Launey (Olga Kurylenko) reist nach Seoul, um den dortigen Behörden und Gelehrtenkollegen ihre revolutionäre, neue Methode zur Abnahme von Fingerabdrücken beziehungsweise zur Identifizierung von Leichen vorzustellen. Kaum angekommen wird die Professorin für Rechtsmedizin jedoch von der koreanischen Polizei in die Untersuchungen eines dringenden Falles hineingezogen. Zunächst widerwillig, dann aber doch mit vollem Einsatz und Enthusiasmus stürzt sie sich an der Seite von Detective Jin-Ho Park (Yeon-Seok Yoo) in eine sich zunehmend schwieriger und eigenwilliger gestaltende Ermittlung. Letztlich setzt dieses, mit Menschen- und Organhandel in Verbindung stehende Verbrechen sogar eine Kette von Ereignissen in Bewegung, die bei Alice persönliche Dämonen wecken, die sie längst verdrängt und vergessen geglaubt hatte ...
